A lot has happened since I was first contracted to act as Preston City Council’s Innovation Ambassador.
Created as a direct response to a Plexal report focused on Preston’s tech ecosystem, the project kicked off with a long list of objectives and a fairly blank slate and has evolved over the last 18 months.
With a long list of objectives focused around all things tech, digital and cyber in Preston and can look very different depending on the day!
Under this umbrella, I have:
- Engaged and collaborated with key stakeholders
- Represented Preston Innovates, Preston City Council & partners on a number of round tables and panel discussions
- Launched and developed the Preston Innovates brand
- Provided advice & insight to the Council on a variety of related issues
- Represented Preston Innovates / Preston City Council at hundreds of events and meetings
- Published multiple issues of the virtual magazine Innovate + Influence, Preston
- Contributed to the council’s Digital Wealth Building and Skills agendas
- Written proposals, bids and reports
And the list goes on!
The project has continued to evolve since it first launched in July 2024, as I work with the Council to adapt and respond to opportunities, challenges and stakeholders’ activity.
Watch this space, because there is plenty more to come.
