Somehow we find ourselves halfway through 2024. Despite quietly muttering to ourselves about how quickly time is flying by, it feels like a good time to pause and take a look at what Alma has already achieved for clients this year.
We have had the privilege of working with a great range of clients across the UK from sectors including publishing, fundraising, higher education, local government, technology, telecoms, hospitality, and online retail. Between us, we have delivered training, provided strategic advice and leadership, and delivered services designed to meet the specific needs, ambitions, and objectives of the businesses and organisations we are working with.
So far in 2024….
We trained:
- Training and media development work for the International Media Support in their Local Media 4 Democracy project with a range of European publishers
- Training and social video development work for a range of European media start-ups
- Bespoke training for tourism businesses in the Ribble Valley
- “Introduction to Working with the Media” training for Edge Hill
- Developed and delivered a journalism innovation module for the University of Central Lancashire’s journalism school for journalists of the future
- Mentoring and support for the University of Central Lancashire’s journalism leadership and innovation postgraduate programme
- Digital storytelling training session, with a focus on new video platforms, for an award-winning North West PR agency.
- Delivered a newsroom insight, employability and pitching training session for journalism students at Bolton University and Manchester Metropolitan University.
We provided strategic advice & leadership:
- Advised on digital growth and engagement strategy for a new national business magazine and website
- Developed communications and marketing strategies for private and third sector clients
- Provided strategic advice and support for a client on an ongoing basis
- Managed multiple suppliers on behalf of a client, to oversee the delivery of the strategy
- Provided result-achieving advice to an award-winning PR agency on best practice for achieving media coverage for clients
- Navigated a crisis situation for a hospitality business
We delivered:
- Launched 10 new local newspapers and newsletters for The Lead in towns and cities across the North of England
- Hosted 6 hustings (5 for general election, 1 for Blackpool by election)
- Created and launched a new Substack-driven email newsletter offering for The Lead, covering Lancashire
- Helped to grow Blog Preston’s audience by 52% year-on year in a challenging and disrupted digital media landscape
- Established and oversaw an audience engagement plan for one of the UK’s largest discount and voucher websites and brands
- Designed and delivered a short-term pilot campaign for an international crowdfunding platform
- Developed a newsletter strategy for a hospitality business and upskilled the in-house team to deliver it
- Managed a wide range of stakeholders on behalf of a public sector client
